I met somebody I had met very briefly several weeks at Dunn Bros again at Dunn Bros. He was writing and there weren’t good seating choices, so I asked if I could sit with him. John, the writer, told me about why he writes, how he views his personal archives, and how he understands his life will be observed.

The discussion blossomed into

• a rumination on who’s information is archived
• who has opportunities to archive
• how loose data maintenance policies and a lack of constistence backups can lead to the destruction of data via tragedies like fires
• how the fire of time ravages all things
• how celebrity is documented
• how people are forgotten
• how vast our personal archives are
• about different forms of poetry and their utility
• anthropology to understand the moment, and archaeology in retrospect, and how we only really practice archaeology in relation to archives because we werent thoroughly documenting the moment
• about pompeii, the library of alexandria, and the tower of babel

Session 002

On the heels of the United States' 250th anniversary, I was recommended to host an archival session at a community gathering space, the Open Market. I arrived an hour into the event and found nobody there because all of the food was distributed! An Open Market win.
